Back To The River Finalists Chosen

The Back to the River jurors have selected five finalists to move on to the second phase of the competition.

The firms chosen to make complete proposals for the development of the Thames River waterfront are:

  • Brook McIlroy, Toronto and Thunder Bay
  • Civitas, Denver
  • PWL Partnership, Vancouver
  • Janet Rosenberg Studio, Toronto
  • Stoss + Dillon, Boston and Toronto
The jury spent a full day choosing the five candidates from submissions made by 19 design firms from around the world.

The firms will receive $40,000 to continue developing their plans over the summer.

The finalists were evaluated based on the quality of their plan, experience of their team, and previous work done on similar projects.

An open forum will take place on October 22, where members of the community can see the finalists pitch their final proposals.

The winner will be announced early November. They will be awarded with a design contract with the City of London and $200,000 to develop the land.
