London Day of Action on Health Care

Patients and health care workers rallied in London today for a Regional Day of Action.

The Ontario Health Coalition is in opposition to hospital funding cuts and privatization of health care services.

The Coalition's Executive Director, Natalie Mehra, says they chose their protest location carefully.

"The gaps between the actual costs for hospitals and their funding has grown every year and Deb Matthews is the cabinet minister in charge of forcing through the cuts."

Mehra says this year alone, London hospitals are enduring $32-million in funding cuts. She says participants in the rally are came from Stratford, Seaforth, Clinton, St. Marys, Ingersoll, Tillsonburg, Leamington, Chatham, Wallaceburg and other small communities in the region.
