Naming Rights To Convention Centre Potentially Lucrative

Taking on a corporate sponsor for the London Convention Centre would mean a financial windfall for the venue, according to a new analysis.

Selling naming rights to the 22-year-old venue could bring in as much as $5-million over a decade, according to a study by the centre's management that will be presented to the Corporate Services Committee at City Hall next Tuesday.

City council's approval of a sponsor wouldn't be required, but the majority of board members would have to agree.

The report estimates the centre could charge $100,000-$500,000 per year, which would help with capital costs.
