Majors Win Home Opener

The London Majors have won their home opener, defeating the Hamilton Cardinals 8-2 at Labatt Park.

On Friday, Majors' leadoff hitter Humberto Ruiz went 3-for-5 with an RBI and run scored, while Paul Lytwynec and Julio Guzman each had two hits, two runs and an RBI. London first baseman Cleveland Brownlee had a double and a solo home run in the win.

Majors starting pitcher Luis Pina held the Cardinals in check, allowing two runs in six innings. He struck out five and walked one.

London is now 2-0 and will play in Toronto on Sunday at 2pm.
