More Western Fair District Concerts to Come

Renovations have been underway since last year at the Western Fair District to bring in concerts such as the Van Halen show, coming up August 5, 2015.

Starting last year, Western Fair District CEO Hugh Mitchell says they began to prepare the horse racetrack infield area for live shows.

"There's quite a bit of space. During the fair we use it for parking, but for June, July and August, that space is essentially available. About a year ago we invested significant dollars into that infield for infrastructure."

Mitchell says the District is working with partner Live Nation on securing other performers but there's nothing that he can reveal right now.

Tickets for Van Halen, with original lead singer David Lee Roth, go on sale Saturday, April 4 at 10am via www.ticketmaster.ca and www.livenation.com.  Kenny Wayne Shepherd is the opening act for the Van Halen tour.
