Police Identify Two Killed In Woodstock Fire

The Woodstock Police Service is releasing the identities of the two people who died when fire ripped through their McQueen St. home.

William Jones, 57, was pulled from the burning building and taken to hospital with serious injuries, where he later died

Officials say heavy smoke and flames made it impossible for fire crews to go back into the home to find a woman trapped on the second level. Barbara O'Connor, 79, died in the fire.

A man living in the lower level was able to escape unharmed.

Investigators say the blaze broke out just before 6:30 on the morning of Friday, March 20.

The cause of the fire has yet to be determined.

Woodstock police and the Ontario Fire Marshal's office continue to investigate
