Two councillors will ask their colleagues at City Hall to consider establishing culture districts in the City of London.
Mo Salih and Jesse Helmer describe the idea as an "effective tool" for attracting performers and tourists to specific areas.
Toronto, for example, has 70 distinct districts including The Distillery District, Greektown and Corso Italia.
The rookie councillors say establishing these areas where performance venues and festivals locate seems logical and would contribute to a healthy economy.
The submission will be made on Monday afternoon during the meeting of the Strategic Priorities and Policy Committee.
