London will be home to the first ever product testing centre in Canada.

The Canadian Centre of Product Validation will be run by Fanshawe College and test various consumer products, as well as building, military and automotive products, for the global marketplace.

It is expected the centre will create upwards of 165 jobs.

Local MPs and stakeholders made the announcement at Fanshawe College this morning.

The city is donating a 10 acre plot of land where the 20,000 sq ft facility will be built in Innovation Park, near Bradley Ave. and Veterans Memorial Pkwy.

The federal government is pumping $8.1-million into the project.
