London Police say break and enters at off-campus student housing sites have drastically increased over the last two weeks.
Since December 19 there have been a total of 11 break-ins reported.
Investigators say a vehicle was used to remove large televisions. Thieves were looking for electronics, alcohol and money.
In the past two years, the number of break-ins around Fanshawe College and Western University double in December compared to the previous month.
In the last 10 days there have been three break-ins in the Wharncliffe Rd. N and Western Rd. area, three near Richmond St. and Cheapside St. and another four near Farnsborough Cres. and Cheapside St. All of these areas have a high concentration of student housing.
Police say in each case the thieves forced their way into the homes through doors and windows. It is believed more incidents will be reported as students return home.
Anyone who spots suspicious activity is encouraged to contact police.
