Grandpa Bob Reaches Winnipeg

Grandpa Bob Facca is finally arriving in Winnipeg after walking 4,000km to raise money for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

Facca is walking for his grandson Louie, who suffers from the disease. Facca is part of the larger organization, Jesse's Journey.

The London native started his walk on May 12 in Quebec City, travelling 20km every single day.

"Through Jesse's Journey we've raised almost $16-million and given $6-million to researchers and we're getting close to finding a cure," says Bob Facca. "We sure do appreciate it and I know the kids sure do appreciated it."

Duchenne's Muscular Dystrophy is a fatal degenerative disease that affects one in every 4,000-6,000 boys.

Facca has raised over $700,000 on this walk.

He says he plans to return to London on Saturday and go back to work on Monday after being on the road for over six months.

Jesse's Journey started in 1995 when John Davidson started pushing his son, Jesse, across Canada to raise money for Duchenne's.
