Woman Reports Fake Assault

Oxford OPP say a Tillsonburg woman lied about being assaulted while walking her dog last week.

On October 31, a woman reported that she had been violently attacked by an unknown man while walking along the Trans Canada Trail, north of Fourth St. in Tillsonburg.

She told police a brief struggle happened before she set off the panic alarm and escaped.

OPP say investigation determined the assault never happened and there is no threat to public safety.
