The Chatham Maroons 16 game winning streak has come to an end.
The team was in Stratford on Monday for Game 2 of its second-round playoff series against the Warriors and lost 6-2.
This is the Maroons' first loss since January 23, when they were beaten 7-5 by the St. Thomas Stars.
It didn't take long for the Maroons to fall behind against Stratford as they gave up a goal just over three minutes into the first period. Stratford doubled its lead halfway through the period.
Santiago Jimenes would get the Maroons on the scoreboard later in the period with his fourth goal of the playoffs. Getting the assists were Matthew Crawford and Josh Harding.
The second period saw the teams exchange goals. Scoring for the Maroons was Max Skinner. His first playoff goal was assisted by Carter Kucher.
The third period was when Stratford's offence came alive, scoring three goals on their first five shots. After making 25 saves, goaltender Samuel DiBlasi was pulled for Viljami Kukkola.
The playoff series is now tied 1-1. Game 3 will be in Chatham on April 2, with puck drop scheduled for 7 p.m.
