The Chatham Maroons are back in the win column after two straight losses to the St. Marys Lincolns.
The Maroons hosted the LaSalle Vipers on Sunday, winning 5-4 in overtime.
It was LaSalle that opened the scoring in the first period, but the Maroons would tie the game before the intermission. Noah Mathieson found the back of the net for his first goal of the season from Alexander Lisi and Bo Doxtator.
The Maroons dominated the second period, doubling LaSalle in shots and getting two goals. The first was scored by Trevor Zanutto and the second by Max Skinner. Mathieson and Lisi assisted Zanutto's 22nd goal of the season, while Jaxon Priddle picked up the only assist on Skinner's 13th goal.
Despite outshooting LaSalle 20-9 in the third period, the Maroons were outscored three goals to one.
Ian Lachance scored the only Maroons' goal on the power play. His eighth of the season was assisted by Mathieson and Skinner.
Overtime was also dominated by the Maroons, with the team accounting for all six shots in the extra frame.
Getting the winning goal was Lisi. His 11th goal was unassisted.
Blake Verberne got the win for the Maroons between the pipes, stopping 27 of 31 shots.
The win puts the Maroons' record at 22-5-1-2.
They'll be back in action on Friday on the road against the Waterloo Siskins. Puck drop will be at 7:30 p.m.
