Playoff schedule set for Maroons and Elmira series

The Chatham Maroons will be back on the ice for playoff hockey this weekend.

On Wednesday, the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League (GOJHL) released the schedule for round one of the playoffs.

The second-place Maroons are set to host the seventh-place Elmira Sugar Kings in Game 1 of their best-of-seven series on Sunday.

Puck drop at the Chatham Memorial Arena is set for 7 p.m.

Elmira will host the Maroons for Game 2 on Tuesday, March 18, followed by Chatham hosting Game 3 on Sunday, March 23, and Elmira hosting Game 4 on Monday, March 24.

If necessary, the Maroons will host Game 5 on Thursday, March 27. Game 6 would happen in Elmira on Saturday, March 29, and Game 7 would take place in Chatham on Sunday, March 30.

Tickets for home games are priced at $13 for adults, $11 for seniors, and $7 for kids aged 6-11.

The league's 16 teams that made the playoffs are competing for the Sutherland Cup.

The Chatham Maroons have made it to the finals several times, the last time being in 2022. The team hasn't managed to win the cup since 1999.
