Leamington Flyers Sold To Local Business Men

Ownership of the Leamington Flyers hockey team is changing hands.

Owner Abe Fehr announced on Monday that the team has been sold to five local businessmen -- Jason Melo, Dan Jancevski, Cam Crowder, David Halliwill and Craig Mahon.

During Fehr's eight years as owner, the Flyers have made four consecutive trips to the league finals and won two Western Conference championships.

"I would like to thank the fans who came to watch and cheer on the team, the community who helped with sponsorship, the players, staff and all of the volunteers who helped to make the past eight years so enjoyable," Fehr said in a statement. "I am confident the group that is taking over will continue to build a championship calibre team for years to come."
