In the NHL -- Cam Fowler scored the game winner on the power play as Anaheim edged Toronto 3-2.

Meanwhile -- Chatham's TJ Brodie picked up his third goal of the season as the Calgary Flames beat Arizona 4-2 -- Ryan Nugent-Hopkins scored in overtime as the Edmonton Oilers edged St. Louis 3-2 -- the Detroit Red Wings game against the Hurricanes in Carolina was postponed because of unplayable ice due to an issue with the cooling system.

Tyson Jost and Taylor Raddysh each scored twice as Canada downed Finland 5-0 in a pre-tournament game ahead of the world junior hockey championship.

In the NBA -- the Detroit Pistons dropped their third straight game, falling to the Chicago Bulls 113-82.

In the NFL -- Washington quarterback Kirk Cousins threw an interception and fumbled near his goal line as the Redskins lost 26-15 to the Carolina Panthers in the NFL's Monday nighter.

Marie-Philip Poulin scored just 42 seconds into overtime as Canada rallied to a 3-2 win over the U-S in an exhibition game between the two women's hockey teams in Sarnia.
