The Maple Leafs put on a show before their home crowd last night. They improved to 6-and-2 in Toronto with a 6-2 win over Nashville. James van Riemsdyk had a hat trick for Toronto while Tyler Bozak had four assists.

The Detroit Red Wings have lost two straight after falling 4-3 to Tampa Bay.

Elsewhere -- Chatham-Kent native Travis Konecny couldn't score in the shootout as Philadelphia lost to the Ottawa Senators 3-2 -- Wallaceburg's Seth Griffith put up an assist in his first game with the Panthers as the Montreal Canadiens fell 4-3 to Florida in overtime -- the Edmonton Oilers dropped their fourth straight, falling 4-1 to Anaheim -- Henrik Lundqvist made 36 saves as the Rangers downed the Vancouver Canucks 7-2 -- the Winnipeg Jets blanked the Blackhawks 4-0 -- and the Calgary Flames got by Minnesota 1-0.

In the NBA -- DeMar DeRozan failed to score 30 points for just the second time this season as the Toronto Raptors fell 121-117 to the Cavaliers in Cleveland. LeBron James had 28 points and 14 assists for the Cavs.
