Jr B Hockey Back On The Ice

The 2016-2017 Jr. B hockey season kicks off tonight in London with the GOJHL Showcase.

The three-day showcase marks the start of the regular season and the only time players will match up against teams outside of their conference until deep into the playoffs.

Each team will play two games at the Western Fairgrounds Arena in London.

The Chatham Maroons will take on Ancaster at 4:45pm on Saturday before facing Waterloo at 10:45am Sunday.

The LaSalle Vipers open up their season with a game against Stratford at 7:15pm. Their second game is 8pm on Sunday against St. Catherines.

The Leamington Flyers' first game is at 5pm on Saturday against Caledonia. Their second game is against Elmira at 1:30pm on Sunday.

The showcase is a chance for the teams to test out their rosters, but it's also an opportunity for the players to show off their skills.

Scouts from various NCAA, CIS, OHL, and NHL organizations are expected to show up in London again this weekend to take a closer look at some of the talent that will be on display.
