Konecny Excited About Sarnia Move

There may be a lot of Clachan residents heading to Sarnia for the game between the Sting and Owen Sound.

Clachan native Travis Konecny will suit up for for the first time after being traded by Ottawa.

He says he's excited to be part of the Sting's organization and for a chance at a playoff run, but admits he was surprised.

"I didn't really expect anything to happen, but it's a good learning experience for me. I know that hockey is a business and there is a business side to things," he says. "I'm really excited about how the team looks and is shaping up and our opportunity to move forward and win and go for a (playoff) run this year, it's one of the most exciting times in my career."

He says a lot of family and friends made the trip to Ottawa to see him play and that is going to be a lot easier now.
