New Pitching Coach Hired

The Detroit Tigers have named Rich Dubee as the team's pitching coach.

Dubee comes over from the Atlanta Braves where he's spent the past two seasons as the club's minor league pitching coordinator.

Before Atlanta, Dubee spent 12 years with the Philadelphia Phillies, including 9 years as the club's major league pitching coach, and three years as the Miami Marlins' pitching coach from 1998-2001.

"Rich is someone who brings great experience and a proven track record of success with major league pitching staffs," said Tigers Manager Brad Ausmus. "He will be a solid complement to our coaching staff and I look forward to working with him."

Just last week the Tigers announced they were in the market for a new pitching coach after Jeff Jones announced his retirement.
