Spits Trade For Back-End Stability

The Spitfires have a new veteran netminder.

The team's acquired 20-year-old Michael Giugovaz from the London Knights in exchange for a seventh round pick in the 2017 draft.

Since entering the league in 2011-2012, Giugovaz has played in 111 games during stints in Peterborough, Belleville and London.

Windsor GM Warren Rychel says, "We needed some stability in goal. We have to be very selective with Mikey DiPietro, who is a 16-year-old goalie. We also have a pair of injured goalies in (Brendan) Johnston and (Mario) Culina, and we had an overage spot open with the departure of Trevor Murphy."
