Clachan native Travis Konecny scored in his first NHL preseason game.
The 18-year-old scored the even-strength goal in the second period of the Philadelphia Flyers 5-3 win over the New York Islanders.
"I remember the puck being chipped in, and I was just hoping for a bounce and it ended up getting through. I tried moving across the net and sliding it five-hole and upward," says Konecny. "I didn't actually know it went in the net until I went past and I looked in the net."
The Flyers selected Konecny in the first round, 24th overall, in the NHL draft this year.
