Broad Wins Big At Provincials

Wallaceburg swimmer Madison Broad had a great showing at the provincial championships.

The 14-year-old won gold in the 200m backstroke, the 100m backstroke, the 50 freestyle, and the 100m butterfly this weekend in Ottawa.

Broad says they were watching her for a concussion after she was hit in warm ups .

"There was a girl and she kind of pushed off on the wrong side of the lane and hit me in the head," says Broad. "One of my pupils was not dilating properly, but other than that I'm fine."

Broad, who swims with the Chatham 'Y' Pool Sharks, then went on to win the 200m backstroke.

Broad will be swimming at the age-group championship meet at the end of July, and at senior nationals in August.
