Nearly 16K votes cast early in CK election

Just under 16,000 people have already voted in Chatham-Kent (CK) ahead of next week's municipal election.

Most of the votes, over 12,000, were cast online. According to the municipality, this beat 2018's record of just under 9,800 online votes.

The remaining 3,600 voted at advance polls in Chatham, Wallaceburg, Blenheim, Ridgetown, Tilbury, and Dresden. The municipality said this surpassed totals during the 2018 and 2022 elections.

The nearly 16,000 people who voted represent over 17 per cent of eligible voters in CK.

Those who have yet to vote will have to wait until election day. Polls across the municipality will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Voters must cast their ballot at their designated voting location, which can be found on their Voter Information Notice.

Eligible voters can still add their name to the Voters’ List by visiting Chatham-Kent Municipal Centre before 4:30 p.m. on October 26, 2026.
