The students at Ursuline College Chatham (UCC) are again collecting food for their 19th annual Lancers Scare Hunger Food Drive.
The UCC students said they would appreciate the community's donations on October 29.
They will be collecting non perishables and canned goods throughout Chatham on October 29 between 5 and 8 p.m.
The students are asking residents to leave their light on and items on the porch to be collected.
All collected items will go to the Chatham food bank, said UCC teacher Abby Kalp.
"Thank you for helping us do some good for the community," said Kalp.
Outreach for Hunger in Chatham is currently in need of apple juice, orange juice, canned fruit, instant coffee, oatmeal pancake mix, pancake syrup, rice, rice mixes, salt, pepper, cooking oil, sugar, jam, 100 per cent juice boxes for kids’ lunches, pudding cups, fruit cups, and school snacks.
The food bank also needs hygiene products such as deodorants, toothpaste, disposable razors, shaving cream, tooth brushes, baby products, diaper cream, shampoo, and baby lotion.
Outreach for Hunger accepts monetary donations as well to cover its operating costs and food purchases. The donations are tax-deductible, and a charitable receipt will be issued for each monetary donation.
The public can make a monetary donation to Outreach for Hunger by using one of the following methods:

Drop off - 10 Wellington Street West, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4p.m.
Last year, Outreach for Hunger noted it had 989 new visits, 11,078 total served, 5,323 total households served, and 14,325 school lunches provided.
"A special thanks to our generous donors and volunteers. Without your support Outreach for Hunger wouldn’t be able to service our community," the food bank added.
Outreach for Hunger is a registered charity that has been serving the community for 38 years.
