Impaired Driving Charge

A 48-year-old Harwich Township man has been charged with impaired driving after a vehicle ended up in a ditch in Wheatley.

Chatham-Kent police said they found a vehicle in a ditch on Wheatley Road on Wednesday night and allege the driver was impaired by alcohol.

The suspect has been charged with operation of a vehicle while impaired by alcohol and having a blood alcohol concentration of 80-plus.

Stunt Driving Charge

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a 24-year-old from Windsor with stunt driving on Highway 401 in Chatham-Kent.

The OPP allege the driver was doing 154km/h in the westbound lanes of the 401 in Chatham-Kent on Wednesday night.

The driver has their licence suspended and their vehicle impoundment as a result.

Police remind all drivers that 150 km/h or more anywhere in the province, even on highways with a 110 km/h limit, is stunt driving.
