Serious Assault
Chatham-Kent (CK) police have charged a man for allegedly assaulting and threatening their partner.
At around 8 p.m. on Wednesday, officers were called to a home in Chatham for a potential dispute.
When they arrived, they found a victim in need of medical help.
As a result, officers arrested the victim's partner and charged him with assault causing bodily harm, assault with a weapon, and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.
He's since been released from police custody with conditions and a future court date.
Abandoned Child
A 31-year-old woman has been charged for allegedly leaving a child alone that she was supposed to be watching.
After 11 p.m. on Wednesday, CK police received information about a child at home by themself.
When officers arrived, they found the child alone in an unlocked home. The police did not say how old the child was.
According to police, the child's supervisor returned while officers were on scene. She was subsequently arrested for abandoning a child.
She's since been released from police custody with conditions and a future court date.
