UPDATE: NTP confirms tornado in Windsor and downburst in Wheatley

Northern Tornadoes Project (NTP) has confirmed a Tornado in the Windsor area on September 3.

A rating of EF1 has been assigned, with a maximum wind speed of 165 km/h. The rating is reportedly based on both structural and tree damage.

According to NTP, the tornado mostly impacted Riverside, East Windsor and Fontainbleu neighbourhoods.

There was damage to trees, a toppled trailer, and the roof of a home was thrown roughly 80 metres.

This appears to be a continuation of an EF2-rated tornado through Detroit, crossing the Detroit River and Belle Isle.

NTP has also reported a tornado and a downburst in Wheatley.

Both events have been assigned EF1 ratings.

The tornado threw debris around, and caused damage to a recently built shed.

NTP noted that the downburst caused significant tree damage and toppled two tractor-trailers.

No injuries were reported in Windsor or Wheatley.

Storms that came through that day caused damage throughout the region.
