UPDATE: Tornado warning lifted for CK

People across Chatham-Kent were encouraged to find shelter for a potential tornado.

An emergency alert was sent out around 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, but it was rescinded about an hour later.

A severe storm ripped through southwestern Ontario from Michigan as a cold front moved through, according to Environment Canada

Up to 120 km/h wind gusts, nickel- to ping-pong-ball-sized hail, and torrential downpours were possible.

Various social media posts reported potential damage in Wheatley and southern Chatham-Kent. These have not been confirmed by weather experts.
