Break and Enter Charge

A 37-year-old man from Chatham has been charged with break and enter following a break-in at a home in Chatham.

Chatham-Kent police allege the man was found inside the home on Joseph Street on Thursday afternoon and was arrested.

Police allege the accused had forced open a rear door, causing damage to the door frame before entering the home without lawful consent.

He also had a warrant for his arrest for failing to comply with his probation and was charged with that offence.

Chatham and Dresden Assault Charges

An assault charge has been laid against a 34-year-old Chatham-Kent woman after a 17-year girl was randomly struck in the face.

Chatham-Kent police allege the victim was walking on North Street in Dresden on Thursday just before midnight when she was approached by a woman unknown to her and struck in the face.

The victim suffered minor injuries and didn't require medical attention.

Police said an unprovoked attack on Tuesday night has also led to an assault charge against a 19-year-old Chatham woman.

Police allege a Chatham woman was walking in the area of King Street East in Chatham when an unknown woman approached her and struck her in the face unprovoked.
