Chatham-Kent gets more than $473K in first quarter casino payment

Cascades Casino Chatham continues to provide hundreds of thousands of dollars in revenue for the municipality.

The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation paid Chatham-Kent (CK) $473,709 for hosting the casino between April 1 and June 30.

That's almost $13,000 more than in the previous quarter.

These payments are made to all Ontario communities that host gaming sites and are calculated using a graduated scale of gaming revenue at that site.

"Revenues from OLG's Municipality Contribution Agreement allow Chatham-Kent to invest in infrastructure and provide funding for critical community services," said Trevor Jones, Member of Provincial Parliament for Chatham-Kent-Leamington.

Since the casino opened in April 2001, CK has received $21,855,969.
