CKHA promotes volunteer to Co-Chair

The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) has advanced a volunteer, making her the Co-Chair of the Patient and Family Advisory Council (PFAK).

Crystal Doherty began volunteering with the hospital in 2024. She worked as a volunteer Patient Experience Advisor focused on ensuring that patient and family needs are prioritized in care delivery.

"Crystal brings a fresh perspective to the role, backed by an impressive combination of leadership excellence, personal experience, and a strong educational background," said Director of Patient Experience and Communications Fannie Vavoulis.

In this new role, she will continue target patient and family centred care while working with the Patient Relations Specialist, as well as Vavoulis.

CKHA noted that Doherty, a mother of two, is currently pursuing an Indigenous Social Work Degree and brings over 20 years of management and supervisory experience to the position.

Doherty will be joining Taryn McGregor-VanHooren, who is the other co-chair, at the start of September.
