One person has been taken into custody after a disturbance involving a potentially armed individual in West Lorne.
The Elgin County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) issued a shelter-in-place order just before 10 a.m. on Sunday, July 5, after a person barricaded themselves inside a residential property in the community between Chatham and London.
The OPP's West Region Tactics and Rescue Unit, Emergency Response Team, and Canine Unit were called in along with Crisis Negotiators and Emergency Medical Services.
Police said the person was arrested without issue after several hours.
OPP added that there is no threat to public safety, and it was an isolated incident. Further updates will be provided when available.
