A 29-year-old Wallaceburg man is facing charges of assault after allegedly choking a woman.
At around 6:47 p.m. on Sunday, Chatham-Kent (CK) police responded to a report of a disturbance on McNaughton Avenue in Wallaceburg.
Police report that a man choked, slapped, and threatened a 30-year-old woman in a vehicle before getting out of the vehicle and leaving the scene. He also allegedly damaged the woman's cell phone.
Officers arrested the man and have charged him with assault, assault to cause bodily harm, uttering threats, and mischief under $5,000.
He has been released with a court date scheduled for July 29.
