It may have been hot over the weekend in Chatham-Kent (CK), but that didn't stop hundreds of people from being active for a good cause.
The Children's Treatment Centre Foundation of Chatham-Kent held its fourth annual Run for the Kids at Rondeau Provincial Park, raising around $105,000.
Participants took part in different activities, such as the 200-metre Kids Dash and a 5 kilometre trek.
"The support behind this event helps ensure local children and youth have access to programs and services that make a meaningful difference in their lives. We are grateful to everyone who helped make this year's event such a success," said Mike Genge, President & CEO of the Children's Treatment Centre Foundation of Chatham-Kent.
The programs and services the event will help fund aren't covered by government funding. This includes social work, therapeutic recreation, music therapy, and specialized equipment.
