The 2025-2026 Saturdays at 7 concert season will wrap up with an evening of piano and storytelling by the Director of Music at St. Andrew's United Church.
Devon Hansen presents 'I'm Still Standing,' which he described as a show that explores the experiences, relationships, and opportunities that shaped his journey in music.
"Everyone has songs that mark the chapters of their lives," Hansen said. "The music that reminds us where we've been, the people we've met, the challenges we've faced, and the moments that changed us forever."
Hansen has served as the Director of Music at St. Andrew's since 2013 and is the owner of Chatham Music Academy. He regularly performs at Chatham-Kent and Windsor-Essex events and has previously performed with the Windsor and Detroit Symphony Orchestras.
According to Hansen, 'I'm Still Standing' follows his personal journey, but is also a tribute to those who have helped him along the way.
"None of us get where we are on our own," he shared. "When I look back on my life in music, I see teachers, mentors, colleagues, family members, volunteers, audience members, and friends who believed in me and opened doors along the way. This concert is an opportunity to celebrate those people and the role that community has played throughout my life."
He added that the title of the show is about more than perseverance.
"It is a tribute to the support systems that sustain us through challenges, encourage us to pursue our passions, and remind us that our greatest accomplishments are rarely achieved alone," he said.
The program will cover a number of different genres, from classical to musical theatre to film and jazz standards. The evening will also include the reveal of next season's Saturdays at 7 lineup.
The concert will take place at St. Andrew's United Church in Chatham on Saturday, June 13.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and any donations are welcome.
