St. Clair College begins spring convocations Tuesday

St. Clair College will begin celebrating newly graduated Saints this week.

Over 3,000 program graduates will receive their diplomas and certificates during spring convocation rites, beginning on Tuesday. Events are scheduled in both Windsor and Chatham.

There will be four sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday at the WFCU Centre in Windsor, and one session on Monday, June 8, at the Chatham Capitol Theatre. A recently-named St. Clair Alum of Distinction will provide the keynote address at each session.

The first session is on Tuesday at 10 a.m. for students in the School of Skilled Trades & Apprenticeships and the School of Engineering Technologies. The main speaker will be Nic White, Co-Owner and CEO of Handy Brothers Home Comfort.

The second session, on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m, is for students from the Zekelman School of Business, with the speaker being Mark McGuire, the executive director of Give and Go Sports Education.

The third convocation is on Wednesday at 10 a.m., for the School of Community Studies and the Zekelman School of Information Technology. Scheduled to speak is Chaouki Hamka, community leader with MADD Canada.

The final Windsor session is on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m., for graduates in the School of Health Sciences and the School of Nursing. The address will be given by John McGivney Children's Centre CEO Jennifer Jovanovski.

The Chatham session on June 8 will begin at 1 p.m. for all Chatham academic programs. The scheduled speaker is Jenn Pestrin, executive director of Community Living Windsor.

St. Clair College has an alumni network of 150,000 people from all over the world.
