Thousands of people will descend on the Tilbury Arena this Saturday, May 2, for the annual Big Buck Sportsmen's Show.
The event, put on by the Southwest Outdoors Club, runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
"We've got 60 vendors with hunting, fishing and outdoor gear," said Dan Rieve, President of the Southwest Outdoors Club. "Hands-on taxidermy displays for the kids, there's a kids' trout pond again this year, which is always really popular. A 3D archery shoot for the kids, and Zoo 2 You is back again with some live animals."
There are numerous raffles, a 50/50 draw, and over $2,500 in door prizes. The popular event has been running for over 20 years.
"Some years we've had well over 2,000 paid entrants. With all the kids, you're looking at 3,000 to 3,500 people attending," said Rieve.
Admission is $5 for adults, and kids 12 and under get in for free. All the money raised goes towards the club's annual kids fishing derby, which takes place every July in Wheatley.
"Everything is free that day for the kids: rods, reels, baits, lunch, and we raffle off eight bicycles," said Rieve. "Last year, we had 375 kids show up with their parents, so probably around 600 people."
The Southwest Outdoors Club will also be selling raffle tickets for a chance to win a 2026 CFMOTO CFORCE 600 ATV, but with only 400 tickets available, they usually sell out early.
