Assault Charges

Assault charges have been laid against a teen following an argument in Chatham.

Chatham-Kent police alleged a 16-year-old boy slapped a young girl in the face when an argument at an address in the north end of Chatham on Wednesday escalated.

Police also alleged the boy then assaulted his mother when she confronted him about the altercation with the girl.

The 16-year-old boy was charged with two counts of assault.

Theft Arrests

A 47-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy, both from Chatham, have been arrested and charged following a theft in Chatham.

Chatham-Kent police said the pair was arrested at a home on Alexandra Avenue in Chatham on Wednesday.

Police alleged the suspects forced their way into a locked construction trailer on Lacroix Street in Chatham last week and removed approximately $4,000 worth of Dewalt tools.

According to police, the tools were recovered during a search of the home on Wednesday.

Both men have been charged with possession of property obtained by crime.
