CK police holding loud training exercises in Chatham

Chatham-Kent (CK) police will be conducting training exercises in Chatham this week and say there's no need to be alarmed over the noise coming from the drills.

The mock drills will start at St. Ursula School at 426 Lacroix Street in Chatham on Tuesday and will continue through Thursday.

Police said residents may notice an increased police presence in the area during those three days, adding that the "realistic sound effects" during the training may be heard by nearby neighbours.

"Members of the public are advised that this is only a training exercise. There is no cause for alarm," said CK police.

Police are asking people to avoid the area while the exercises are underway, adding they appreciate the public's understanding and cooperation as officers participate in this "important training."
