Apartment assault leads to arrest

A 37-year-old Blenheim woman faces multiple charges after an assault at an apartment building.

Just before 8 p.m. on Monday, Chatham-Kent police responded to a disturbance on Talbot Street West in Blenheim.

Police say a woman threw an ashtray and a security camera at another tenant. The victim was not injured, but the security camera was damaged.

After the incident, police found the woman in distress outside the apartment building. She was taken to the hospital for further care.

As a result, she was charged with two counts of assault with a weapon and one count of mischief.

She was later released with a future court date.
