Citizen's arrest leads to charges against CK man

Several Chatham residents took matters into their own hands after spotting someone peering into a home.

On Wednesday, Chatham-Kent (CK) police received a report of a suspicious person on Woods Street.

A man was reportedly looking into a home while wearing all black clothing with a mask.

Concerned neighbours decided to handle the matter themselves with a citizens' arrest.

When police arrived at the home, they found the suspect detained on the front lawn.

The man was arrested and charged with trespassing at night.

He's since been released from police custody, with a future court date.
