Wheatley traffic stop leads to drug seizure

A woman from Chatham-Kent and a man from Kingsville face drug charges after Chatham-Kent police allege they found illegal drugs in their vehicle during a traffic stop.

Police alleged they saw a vehicle being driven erratically in the area of Middleton Line and Klondyke Road in Wheatley just after 1:30 a.m. on Thursday and stopped the vehicle.

According to police, officers seized fentanyl, cocaine, digital scales, measuring cups, a cell phone, and packaging materials.

Police also alleged that the Kingsville man was driving while under suspension and was wanted on an outstanding warrant.

They both face charges of possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking.
