CK man charged following assault including hatchet, screwdriver

A 48-year-old man faces more than half a dozen charges following a violent attack over the weekend.

Chatham-Kent police were called to a Chatham home early Saturday morning for reports of an assault that had taken place the day before.

Investigators determined that during the incident two men had been assaulted, threatened, and prevented from leaving a Princess Street home by the suspect.

One victim, a 43-year-old man, needed medical attention, as police say he was hit in the head with a hatchet. According to police, the suspect also tried to attack the victim with a screwdriver.

The man faces charges, including theft, uttering threats, forcible confinement, and multiple counts of assault.
