CK police briefs -- Tuesday, March 10, 2026

Assault

A 41-year-old man has been charged after allegedly assaulting a senior.

Shortly after 5 p.m. on Monday, Chatham-Kent (CK) police received a call about a fight between two people.

According to police, a 70-year-old man was assaulted and suffered minor injuries.

Police arrested the other man, charging him with assault.

He's since been released from police custody with a future court date.

Wire Theft

CK police have arrested two people after they were allegedly caught stealing wire.

Just before 12 p.m. on Monday, an officer on foot patrol was told by a member of the public that two masked people were stripping wire from air conditioning units at a Blenheim business.

Police went to the business and found two men. Each was arrested and charged with theft, possession of stolen items, and mischief.

Both men remain in police custody, awaiting a bail hearing.
