CKHAF launches 'March Matchness' fundraiser

A one-month fundraising campaign will allow community members to see their support for local hospitals have twice the impact.

'March Matchness' will see donations doubled for two Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation (CKHAF) campaigns. Throughout March, Robin and Bob Hockney have offered to match donations up to $50,000 for the redevelopment campaign for Chatham-Kent Health Alliance's (CKHA) Wallaceburg location and enhancing mammography services at the Chatham location.

"These are two incredibly important priorities for our hospital and our community," said Christine Mitchell, President and CEO of CKHAF. "[Bob and Robin's] generosity is creating an opportunity for donors to see their gifts have immediate, doubled impact."

Bob Hockney is a past Chair of the Foundation Board and longtime supporter of local healthcare, according to CKHAF. He said his decision to match donations came from a desire to encourage more community engagement.

"Matching gifts are a simple but powerful way to inspire people to give," Hockney shared. "Robin and I believe deeply in the importance of our local hospital, and we wanted to create an opportunity where every donation, no matter the size, could have an even greater impact. The care provided at our hospital touches so many lives, and we hope this campaign will rally our community in support of these important initiatives throughout the month of March."

'March Matchness' runs until March 31. You can donate or find more information here.
