Windsor resident charged following crash on Hwy. 40 in CK

A Windsor resident has been charged after a two-vehicle crash took down a hydro pole and sent one person to the hospital.

According to the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), a delivery van and an SUV collided on Highway 40 at Countryview Line in Chatham-Kent.

Emergency services responded to the scene at roughly 7:40 a.m. Tuesday.

The driver of the SUV was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, and OPP closed the road for around four hours while the hydro pole was repaired.

Officers have charged a 25-year-old from Windsor with failing to stop at a stop sign.

The road has reopened to the public.
