A basketball court will soon be installed at McGregor Kinsmen Park in Blenheim.
The new 3-on-3 court, approved by Chatham-Kent (CK) council during Monday night's meeting, is part of the 2025 Parks and Recreation Master Plan.
Councillor Anthony Ceccacci brought the motion forward, noting it will be the first hard playing surface in Blenheim, besides the racquetball courts.
The installation is made possible by a $45,000 donation from the Ridge Landfill Community Trust, and $45,000 funded from Ceccacci's Ward Funds.
He took to social media after it was approved, expressing his gratitude to Hydro One and the Ridge Landfill Community Trust.
"The 3-3 court represents our collective potential and shared vision for a vibrant community," he shared.
Administration anticipates the court will be complete in the summer of 2026.
The motion passed 15 to zero.
