School buses in zones 7 & 8 cancelled

Some students in Chatham-Kent are getting an extra-long weekend.

School buses are cancelled in zones 7 and 8 today. That includes the city of Chatham, Tilbury, Blenheim, Merlin, Pain Court, Wheatley, Grand Pointe, Shrewsbury, Lighthouse Cove, Charing Cross, and Erieau.

High school exams are pushed back again. Period A exams will take place TOMORROW, and the schedule for all remaining exams will be announced this afternoon.

Municipal crews have been out all night, but some roads in Chatham-Kent are still snow-covered. 

Highway 401 has fully reopened following several accidents between Bloomfield Road and Queens Line yesterday.

One of those crashes involved a transport truck and a snowplow that shut down the westbound lanes of the highway for five hours.

Ontario Provincial Police say there were no injuries.
