A 41-year-old woman has been charged after allegedly stealing around $600,000 from the Delaware Nation at Moraviantown.
The Eelŭnaapéewi Lahkéewiit First Nation Police Service (ELFNPS) and Elgin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) started an investigation in February 2025.
They allege that a former First Nation employee forged multiple cheques between October 2018 and December 2024.
She was officially arrested on December 17 and charged with 14 counts of forgery, fraud over $5,000, and using, dealing, and forging documents.
Her next court appearance is on February 4.
